As we increasingly rely on technology in our everyday lives, the question of online safety becomes more pressing. In 2022, Virtually Safe carried out a research interviewing over 1000 young people and realized that young people below 18years are involved with online betting, this led us to start the Safer Gambling Campaign and hosted a workshop and safer gambling hackathon in 2023, as part of this campaign we wanted to include young people in the conversation as we believe that young people are an important part of the solution when addressing internet safety, and they have valuable expertise as ‘digital natives’ that can be shared.
